This cross is better known as the ‘comfort cross’ as holding the soft wood offers one solace and over time the cross will develop its own natural patina adding hues and richness. Sometimes just holding this cross will bring comfort.

When the child is older (over the age of 5) this can be his or her personal prayer cross. It is shaped unevenly in order to fit comfortably into his/her small hand.
